Experience
I attended Loyola University, where I earned both my bachelor's and my master's, in History and Public History, respectively. I received a Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University in American History. After years of study, inquiry, interest, and investment, I finally consider myself a proper historian. I never thought I would wind up a historian, however. When I was young, I hoped to be an actress, though I was always interested in Abraham Lincoln's story and unfortunate assassination. I currently teach college courses online in history, though I've also taught many non-virtual classes in U.S. history at a number of universities/colleges. I have experience teaching Advanced Placement United States History, Social Studies, American Constitutional History, European History, as well as English and Writing. I've worked with students on essay-writing and editing skills, as well. History is not fixed, rather, it's fluid, transitional, and ever-changing, which is something I stress to my students. Outside of my teaching career, I'm married with two children. I enjoy historiography, working out, spending time with my family and friends, and relaxing. I also love to debate about current events, and Doctor Who is one of my favorite TV shows.
